I’m so lost on how many baby outfits I need and how much in each size. I had my baby shower last week so I have been buying clothes this week and I really dont want to waste my money and get a bunch of things he’ll grow out of too soon. I have 26 6-9 month outfits, 31 3-6 month, 26 0-3 month, and a few newborn. The only sizes I have personally bought and am able to return are 3-6 month and 6-9 month. Also when I say outfit I mean probably an equal amount of short sleeve onesies, long sleeve onesies, sleep n plays, and onesies with pants. Please help

You have enough outfits for sure!!! Honestly, if you want more you could (there’s multiple reasons to change the baby throughout the day if you wanted) but that is plenty. Baby doesn’t care if they repeat outfits lol as long as it’s clean you can put them in it

@Brally,
and to add, you may need newborn outfits but it’s worth waiting to see how big the baby comes out because they may fit into 0-3 right away, they might only be in newborn for a little bit or you might find that some of your 0-3 outfits run small and can be used during newborn

That’s tons, in my opinion. When they’re 0-3 months you’ll probably have more blowouts, so I have a good amount of onesies jmti switch them around, but as they get older, they do that less.
Also, as the baby gets older, you’ll be more confident in their needs and what you require to fulfill them. I wouldn’t worry about anything beyond the 0-3 month stage. By that time you’ll know what’s up :)

That's a lot of clothes! I have about 5 to 7 onesies and 5 to 7 sleep and plays, in each size.

That’s definitely more than enough, babies don’t need much. I’d also recommend not taking the tags off bigger sizes. Depending on how many clothes you have you might not use them all so you might be able to either return, resell or regift certain clothes that you don’t use. I only wash clothes from newborn to 3 months and then do the rest as baby grows into bigger sizes.

Oh wow. Fourth time mom here. That’s a ton of clothes. I have like 7 or so sleep and plays outfits for each size. I would return some of your least favorites in the sizes you purchased and have a receipt for

I’m a third time mom & did the bare minimum shopping this time around. I only bought 6-8 sleepers, 6 onesies (with patterns/ designs) 4 pairs of pants, & 4 plain white onesies in the size Newborn. I had to remember that both of my babies were really small & stayed in newborn for about a month. I do have 0-3 clothes but by the time they’ll fit into them I can do some more shopping.

I think that sounds like the right amount to start with! For those of you saying you have 7-10, do you do laundry every day/every other day?? There are definitely some days you go through a lot from spit up, blow outs, etc, and other days you don’t!

the first few months you mostly just have them on your breast, they sleep and you warm them with your body heat during breast feeding. You need swaddle or sleep sack or sleepers for 0-3 and some mittens and hats but honestly not much else for the first 3 months. After that it’s summer and babies get hot …. So less is more till fall winter time ✌️

You have enough. They outgrow them so quickly. I have about half or some equal to you because I like my kids in new outfits daily but a normal person will wash and reuse so you don’t need many.
